THIS CHARMING period mid-terrace cottage stands in a small, quiet lane in Sway in the New Forest National Park, within walking distance of the mainline railway station of Sway. The New Forest Ponies regularly roam past and you may walk from here straight onto the open forest.
The cottage is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard. It is cleaned and maintained by the owner who is always willing to meet any needs guests may have and to offer advice on trips and walks to help ensure that you make the most of your New Forest Holiday. There is free WiFi in Heatherview and in Heather Cottage B&B next door.
Accommodation
Downstairs is the welcoming sitting room with sofas, flatscreen freeview ( not as in picture! ) digital TV and DVD player and the log fire , the dining room with a table and chairs and a sofa-bed, the modern well-equipped kitchen with a pull-up table and folding chairs, leading to the patio and pretty cottage garden. There is a WC with hand basin.
The stairs are cottage stairs, steep with a handrail, with two steps to each bedroom and the bathroom. There are grab handles on the landing to assist with these,and rails to put across to prevent you falling down the stairs in the night!
Upstairs is a double (5ft bed) room ,a twin room and a family bathroom with an over bath shower. A travel cot and high chair can be provided.
Outside is the enclosed, private garden, table and chairs, a clothes line and a lockup shed where your bikes, pushchairs and logs may go.

Bring your logs , one basket is provided ,more can be purchased locally, into the sitting room and enjoy a real open fire and the f digital TV/DVD and radio/CD,
or relax over in a long meal in the dining room and watch ponies and donkeys wander past the fence. There are lots of books on the shelves, book swapping is welcome.
Your beds will be made up for you before you arrive. Please bring your own towels including for the kitchen.
Cooking is on gas, hot water and heating are from a gas combi boiler.

Heatherview's Idyllic Location
Heatherview Self catering Cottage in Sway is ideally located, Sway village itself has a well-stocked general store, a butcher, newsagents, chemist, doctors surgery and a hairdresser, as well as pubs and restaurants/hotels if you decide to eat out. The nearest pub, which serves meals and welcomes children and dogs, is 500 yds away from Heatherview. See their menu, www.harehounds.co.uk
Sway Station is on the Poole - Southampton - Waterloo line, there is an hourly service and is ideal if you want to explore the New Forest by 'green transport', such as the bike or bus.

Brockenhurst is ten minutes drive away and represents a typical New Forest village with cafes, tourist and antiques shops , ponies in the street and a watersplash.!
Lymington, with it’s Georgian High Street, sailing harbour, interesting shops and Saturday market, is equally close .A ferry runs to the Isle of Wight from here.
Nearby attractions include Beaulieu Abbey and Motor Museum, Exbury Gardens, Bucklers Hard on the Beaulieu River and The New Forest Museum in Lyndhurst.
All of the New Forest National Park is open for walking as is the Solent Way Coast Path, famous for it’s nature reserve. There are excellent beaches between Milford-on-sea and Christchurch harbour. Horse riding, golf, fishing , cycling, wagon rides and boating are all all within the immediate area and further afield are the cathedral cities of Winchester, Salisbury,and Chichester .Portsmouth, Southampton and Bournemouth offer cinemas, theatre, museums and large shopping centres.
Access
Sway is on the main Waterloo-Poole line, trains stop in Brockenhurst and Sway.
Ferries in Lymington, Southampton, Portsmouth and Poole are easily reached.
Airports in Southampton and Bournemouth are 40 minutes drive and Heathrow is an hour away. Gatwick can be reached by car or rail within 2 hours.
